Over the past year, The University of Southern Mississippi has dedicated time and effort to further developing its online degree programs. These efforts have paid off with Affordable Colleges Online (ACO) recognizing Southern Miss as the best in the United States for its ability to bring academic excellence to online students with a more manageable price tag.

The University of Southern Mississippi’s School of Kinesiology, in conjunction with the College Athlete Network, will host a fully online graduate information fair Wednesday, Nov. 16 between 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. CT.

As students hurry to their classes at The University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, they are stopping to take notice of some new outdoor sculptures on the west side of campus. These sculptures are part of the 2016 USM Outdoor Art Exhibition sponsored by the College of Arts and Letters, the Department of Art and Design and Partners for the Arts. The sculptures are the work of artists from across the country and will remain on campus through April 2018.
Halloween is perhaps the spookiest and most fun day of the year when you can dress up in scary costumes and be someone completely different. The University of Southern Mississippi Roots & Shoots and the Department of Biological Sciences hosts the 2016 Haunted Science Tower (formerly known as the Haunted Science Trail) Oct. 28 from 4 – 7 p.m.
University Libraries’ de Grummond Children’s Literature Collection at The University of Southern Mississippi will continue its celebration of Curious George’s 75th birthday with Curious George Day at the Hattiesburg Zoo Nov. 12 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
This year marks the fourth Eagles Write, an annual celebration and competition in the Department of English at The University of Southern Mississippi. The National Day on Writing is annually celebrated on Oct. 20 and recognizes all forms of writing and authors.
