Internationally acclaimed artist Christo will visit the University of Southern Mississippi’s Hattiesburg campus Sept. 5 to present the lecture, Christo and Jeanne-Claude, Two Works in Progress: Over the River, Project for the Arkansas River, Colorado, andThe Mastaba, Project for the United Arab Emirates. This event begins at 7 p.m. in Bennett Auditorium and is free and open to the public.


Renowned experts and those currently working in top positions in the field of safety and security will share their knowledge and experience July 31 - Aug 1 at the third annual National Sports Safety and Security Conference and Exhibition at New Orleans’ famed Roosevelt Hotel.


William E. “Bud” Kirkpatrick, former director of public relations for The University of Southern Mississippi, was recently inducted into the Southern Public Relations Hall of Fame.
