The Southern Rap Battle originally scheduled for Friday, Nov. 11 has been rescheduled for Friday, Dec. 9, the night of the scheduled final round, due to complications caused by a stage malfunction. The event will be held in the Black Box Theater, also known as Hartwig Theatre, on The University of Southern Mississippi Hattiesburg campus. Admission is free.

University of Southern Mississippi Vice President for Finance and Administration Dr. Douglas Vinzant has announced the hiring of Krystyna Varnado as Associate Vice President for Human Resources. Varnado will be responsible for all aspects of human resources and serve as the University’s chief human resources officer.

Student-veterans from The University of Southern Mississippi will participate in the City of Hattiesburg’s annual Veterans Day Parade set for Friday, Nov. 11. The parade will begin at 10 a.m. at Hardy Street Baptist Church and will make its way east to Veterans Memorial Park in downtown Hattiesburg.
