Nearly 700 students came to the Southern Miss Career Fair last week in the Thad Cochran Center on the Hattiesburg Campus. There were nearly 100 employers in attendance ready to hire Southern Miss students and alumni.

The University of Southern Mississippi is set to host the 81st annual meeting of the Mississippi Academy of Sciences Feb. 23-24 at the Thad Cochran Center on the Hattiesburg campus. This is the largest meeting of its kind in the state, and the eighth year in a row it has been held in Hattiesburg.

Recent graduates of the Family Nurse Practitioner program at The University of Southern Mississippi received a 100 percent pass rate on the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) exam.

At its Feb. 3, 2017 meeting, The University of Southern Mississippi Faculty Senate voted unanimously in passing a resolution reaffirming religious freedom, designed as an assurance to the university community that people of all religions and nationalities are welcomed and appreciated at USM.
