The Center for Human Rights and Civil Liberties at The University of Southern Mississippi will host the 2017 Human Rights Conference Saturday, April 1 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. The conference, “Human Rights around the Globe,” is free and open to the public and will be held on the first floor of the Liberal Arts Building on the Hattiesburg campus. Refreshments will be served from 11:30 a.m. - noon.

University of Southern Mississippi business students Justin McCool and Morgan Musgrove have been selected for the 2017 Eli Lilly and Company Sales Internship – a 10-week training program with the global pharmaceutical company.

 

McCool and Musgrove, both Healthcare Marketing majors, competed against students from other schools to earn the training opportunity. There were only 60 internships awarded across the country for Eli Lilly’s program.

More than 70 safety and security officials from high schools across the country are in attendance for the third annual National Interscholastic Athletics and After-School Activities Safety and Security Summit. The event is being held March 28-30 and is hosted by the National Center for Spectator Sports Safety and Security (NCS4) at The University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg.

It’s that swingin’ time of the year again for The University of Southern Mississippi’s annual Jazz and Blues Festival held at the University’s Gulf Park campus in Long Beach.

The University of Southern Mississippi will honor the memory of students and faculty and staff members who died in the last year at its Fallen Eagle Memorial Service Monday, April 3 at 5:30 p.m. in the Thad Cochran Center, room 218 on the Hattiesburg campus. The service is presented annually by the USM Student Government Association (SGA).

Beginning April 4, Dr. David Vance, adjunct professor in the Department of Human Capital Development, will be teaching HCD 680: Managing Workplace Learning, a five-week, executive format course for graduate and non-degree seeking students.

The University of Southern Mississippi’s Department of Human Capital Development will launch the Professional Development Series, a new workshop series designed for training and human resource professionals, March 30-31. All sessions will be held on the Gulf Park campus.
