The University of Southern Mississippi (USM) will feature the 2018 Southern Invitational Choral Conference (SICC) on Sept. 24 and 25 at two different venues in Hattiesburg, Miss. The conference allows students from across the region to work and interact with some of the finest choral teachers in the country.

SICC opens with the Southern Miss Showcase Concert on Sept. 24 at 7:15 p.m. at Bennett Auditorium on the Hattiesburg campus. It concludes on Sept. 25, with the SICC Honor Choirs performances at 3:30 p.m. in Main Street Baptist Church in Hattiesburg.

SICC kicks off the concert season for Southern Miss Choral Activities at the School of Music. The Southern Miss Showcase Concert features the Southern Chorale, the Concert Choir, the Spirit of Southern, and the BelleTones.

“It is the most audience-friendly program of the year; involving music theater, opera, and choral activities,” said Dr. Gregory Fuller, Director of Choral Activities.

On the next afternoon, the SICC Honor Choirs, include a performance by both the high school and junior college students from the surrounding region.

“In our 15th year, the welcome clinicians Dr. Kenny Potter and Dr. Jonathan Rodgers,” said Associate Director of Choral Activities Dr. Jonathan Kilgore. “They will conduct the SICC High School and the SICC Community College Honor Choirs, respectively.”
