The Department of Physics and Astronomy at The University of Southern Mississippi will host a viewing event Saturday, April 20 from 8 - 9:30 p.m. on the Hattiesburg campus in conjunction with national Astronomy Day. This free program will be held adjacent to the intramural fields and the public is invited.
Department faculty member Dr. Jim Stephens is coordinating the event, where telescopes will be set up for viewing celestial objects. “We invite everyone to come out and have a look at the Moon, Jupiter and a few other sights in the sky," Stephens said.
