The College of Business at The University of Southern Mississippi continues its Inspired Leaders series on Wednesday, April 4 with a presentation by Angela Loehr Chrysler, CEO of Team National. The Inspired Leaders Series provides industry leaders the opportunity to present their insights in large- and small-group settings with students.

Chrysler will address students at 2 p.m. in Scianna Hall’s McDonnell Auditorium followed by a faculty and student reception at Jutamas Thai Restaurant, 6156 U.S. 98, in Hattiesburg, at 6 p.m. sponsored by the Direct Selling Education Foundation (DSEF).

Chrysler oversees the operations of Team National and all related entities; her background is in sales and marketing. She spent five years in medical sales, before joining the family-owned business, Team National in 2000. In 2007, she was promoted to Chief Executive Officer and she continues to run the company with the same dedication, philosophies and commitment as her father and mentor.

In addition, Chrysler is actively involved with the Direct Selling Association and the Direct Selling Education Foundation (DSEF). She volunteers her time to serve on many direct selling committees. Angela was named as one of The Most Influential Women in Direct Selling by Direct Selling News Magazine. Angela was also named as one of the 100 Outstanding Women of Broward County for seven consecutive years 2010-2018.

“This is an amazing opportunity for students to learn from one of the best in the industry. DSEF is interested in the talented student body at Southern Miss and plans to share information on corporate career paths and entrepreneurship,” said Dr. SherRhonda Gibbs, Associate Professor of Management in the College of Business, and a DSEF Fellow.

Added Dr. Faye Gilbert, Dean of the College of Business, “I commend Dr. Gibbs for her work to connect our students with national leaders and appreciate this visit by Angela Loehr Chrysler, CEO of Team National. The DSEF is an amazing organization that has had a long history of interacting with educational institutions and students. It is a pleasure to welcome them to USM.”

DSEF is a 501(c)(3) organization aimed to engage, equip and empower educators to provide students with an accurate understanding of the direct selling industry as a go-to-market strategy, distribution model and entrepreneurial option, and to teach the correct principles of direct selling. DSEF Fellows are given a three-year opportunity to work with the Foundation and industry executives to gain deeper insights into this channel of distribution.
