Eagle Dining has formed a partnership with Southern Miss Activities Council (SMAC) that will offer the Southern Miss Community free cooking classes for the fall semester.
The cooking classes are presented in a fun and informative format, and feature delicious meals taught by Eagle Dining culinary experts. Two classes are scheduled during the fall semester, 9 p.m. to 11p.m. at the Fresh Food Company and include: Mother Sauces on Sept. 26 and Caribbean on Oct. 24.
Each class is limited to 50 participants and is offered at no charge. Faculty, staff and students are allowed to register the week prior to the class date via the online form located on www.eagledining.com or http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/CookingClass
Once participants register, they are required to check-in at the Fresh Food Company at 8:45 p.m. the day of the class.
To ensure safety in the kitchen during the classes, participants must have closed-toe, rubber sole shoes; t-shirt; hair restraints; and pants. Eagle Dining will provide ingredients, cookware, utensils and aprons.
The first class, Mother Sauces, will feature the five basic sauces to make dishes such as brown gravy, Alfredo, macaroni and cheese, and spaghetti sauce. In the Caribbean class, Guest Chef Godfrey will teach how to prepare an authentic Caribbean cuisine.
