The University of Southern Mississippi (USM) School of Music presents a Faculty Artist Series concert, featuring Dr. Jackie McIlwain, clarinet, and Dr. Ellen Elder, piano, on Sept. 26. This free recital starts at 7:30 p.m. in Marsh Auditorium on the Hattiesburg campus.

The program features music from around the world with Hungarian Recruitment dance Peregi Verbunki by Leo Weiner, a sonatina by Czeck composer Bohuslav Martinu, Cinco Bocetos for solo clarinet by Puerto Rican composer Roberto Sierra, French sonata by Francis Poulenc, and a fun closing piece entitled After You, Mr. Gershwin! by Bela Kovacs.

“I am excited to share this interesting program” said McIlwain. “The wide variety of music should be an engaging journey for the audience.”
