Dr. Cyndi Gaudet, chair and professor of the Department of Human Capital Development program at The University of Southern Mississippi, recently packed her crystal ball and traveled to Pennsylvania to participate in the Human Performance Work Group.

Hosted by the Army Capabilities Integration Center’s (ARCIC) Human Dimension and Future Warfare divisions, the Human Performance Work Group provided industry experts the opportunity take part in a military, strategic visioning exercise designed to determine U.S. structural trends for the years 2035-2050.

Gaudet was one of only 44 participants invited to participate, representing higher education, industry, government and military. Participants worked together to identify key social, political and economic trends in order to determine implications for human performance within the U.S. Army.

“What an incredible opportunity to participate in the Human Performance Work Group,” said Gaudet. “The experience brings visibility to our research-based, practitioner-focused human capital development capacity at Southern Miss.”

Gaudet joined Southern Miss in 1997 to develop innovative programs focusing on human capital development. Graduate programs designed and developed under her leadership include the doctoral degree in human capital development and the master’s degree in human capital development. Gaudet earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Southern Miss and her Ph.D. in human resource education and workforce development from LSU.
