Immigration Topic of Oct. 2 Program on Hattiesburg Campus

The University of Southern Mississippi’s Center for Human Rights and Civil Liberties will host a forum on immigration Tuesday, Oct. 2 from noon-1:30 p.m. in the Gonzales Auditorium of the Liberal Arts Building on the Hattiesburg campus. Admission is free, and members of the University and local communities are invited.

The forum’s scheduled guest panelists include:

*Charlie Wall, senior attorney for U.S. Immigration, Customs and Enforcement (ICE), New Orleans

*Melinda Medina, a community organizer from Mississippi, formerly with the Mississippi Immigrants’ Rights Alliance

*Carlos Ponce, Consul of Mexico, New Orleans

The forum will include time for audience questions and/or comments, and the forum’s guest panelists will have equal time.
