Main Content

The Alpha Omicron chapter of Phi Mu sorority at The University of Southern Mississippi will host its annual fall festival, BonnaMU, on Saturday, Sept. 23 from 2-5 p.m. at Spirit Park on the Hattiesburg campus. The event is a fundraiser for Batson Children’s Hospital in Jackson, Miss.

BonnaMU is a family-friendly event that includes live music, food and entertainment. Admission is free, and proceeds from food and drink sales, raffles and items sold at various event booths will benefit the hospital. Phi Mu’s national philanthropy is Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

According to the Batson Children’s Hospital website, the medical facility is the only one in the state devoted exclusively to the care and treatment of sick and injured children and adolescents. The hospital averages 9,000 admissions a year, and nearly 80,000 children are treated in its clinics and emergency room annually. Patients come from all of Mississippi’s 82 counties to receive comprehensive medical care for everything from common childhood illnesses to serious trauma and life-threatening or chronic illnesses.
