Dr. Ray G Newman, chair of The University of Southern Mississippi’s Department of Community Health Sciences, has received the Founders Medal of Honor Award for continued hard work and dedication to the Healthcare Financial Management Association.
HFMA, headquartered in Chicago, is the premiere professional financial association for healthcare in which Dr. Newman also is board certified as a Fellow.
This prestigious award recognizes an individual who has been actively involved in HFMA for several years after earning the Muncie Gold Award, has provided significant service at the chapter, regional and/or national level, and remains a member in good standing. The Founders Award program is a personal incentive program designed to encourage, monitor and recognize individual involvement in HFMA.
“This award recognizes Dr. Newman’s sustained commitment to excellence in healthcare leadership and management and to the development of his professional colleagues in the critical domain of financial management,” said Dr. Michael Forster, dean of the College of Health at Southern Miss.
