The University of Southern Mississippi invites Gulf Coast high school and community college students to experience what it is like to be a Golden Eagle during the fourth annual Showcase event on the University’s Gulf Park campus in Long Beach.
Hosted by the Office of Admissions, Showcase 2017 is a free annual event that highlights the many opportunities available at Southern Miss for prospective freshmen and transfer students. The event will take place Tuesday, March 21 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., beginning at the Fleming Education Center on the Gulf Park campus.
Representatives from the University’s six colleges – College of Arts and Letters, College of Business, College of Education and Psychology, College of Health, College of Nursing, and College of Science and Technology – will be on hand to discuss academic programs and answer questions.
Throughout the day, students will also be able to:
• Participate in workshops and presentations
• Learn about academic opportunities
• Meet admissions representatives
• Receive information about financial aid and scholarships
• Tour campus
• Learn about student life
• Enjoy a complimentary lunch
“Showcase creates a lot of enthusiasm for students visiting our campus, and allows students to interact with faculty and staff,” said Assistant Director of Admissions for the Gulf Park Campus Michelle Konscak. “We look forward to welcoming students to our Gulf Park campus and showing them the many reasons why it’s great to be a Golden Eagle.”
Attendees will receive a free goody bag, T-shirt and gift certificate for a waived application fee.
