Rodney D. Bennett, president of The University of Southern Mississippi, will serve as Grand Marshal for the 29th annual Southern Miss Coca-Cola Classic Rodeo.
Dr. Bennett took office as the 10th President of The University of Southern Mississippi on April 1, 2013. Appointed to the presidency by the Board of Trustees of the Institutions of Higher Learning, Dr. Bennett is charged with serving as both the chief executive officer and principal educational officer of The University of Southern Mississippi. In general terms, the President is responsible to the Board of Trustees for every facet of institutional operations.
The 29th annual Southern Miss Coca-Cola Classic Rodeo will be held Friday and Saturday, Feb. 14-15, 2014, at the James Lynn Cartlidge Forrest County Multi Purpose Center on U.S. Highway 49 South in Hattiesburg, Miss. The featured guests for the rodeo will be comedian Lecile Harris, six-time professional rodeo Clown of the Year, and Hattiesburg native and Nashville recording artist, Cadie Calhoun. Round up the whole family for the Pine Belt’s “greatest show on dirt.”
Tickets will be on sale beginning Dec. 21 at TJ’s Western Ware on U.S. Highway 49 and Hub City West on U.S. Highway 98 in Hattiesburg. Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 after Feb. 13. All seats are reserved.
