Dr. Brent Hales, interim chair of the Department of Economic and Workforce Development at The University of Southern Mississippi, recently published a text entitled “Entrepreneurship Economics” targeted to high school entrepreneurship teachers.

The publication provides teachers with lesson plans for teaching entrepreneurship. The text is co-authored by Barbara Flowers, a senior economic education specialist with the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis and Gregory Valentine, professor of business education at the University of Southern Indiana.

The book was published by the Council for Economic Education in New York and will serve as the Council’s leading publication for entrepreneurship education in the United States.

“This publication is based on my work with the Southern Entrepreneurship Program and will serve to spread the message of the potential for teaching entrepreneurship to youth,” said Hales. “The U.S. has a long history in promoting entrepreneurship in practice but has lacked in teaching people how to become entrepreneurs. This text will hopefully fill some of those gaps.”

“Entrepreneurship Economics”is available for purchase through the Council for Economic Education’s website at http://www.councilforeconed.org
