Southern Miss Student Needs Assistance Finding State Championship Ring

This St. Stanislaus High state championship ring is similar to the one Southern Miss student Christopher Lapniewski has lost.

University of Southern Mississippi freshman Christopher Lapniewski is asking for the public’s help in locating a high school football state championship ring he lost today (Friday, Sept. 30) while at work.

Lapniewski believes the ring slipped off his finger as he placed merchandise in a shopping bag for customers at Campus Book Mart across from the university on Hardy Street.

“We’ve all looked everywhere and that’s the only place it could be,” said Lapniewski, who purchased the ring as a member of the St. Stanislaus High School’s 2009 championship team. “I know I had it on when I got to work because I remember twisting it around on my finger. We were very busy first thing at the store and after the rush settled down I realized the ring was gone.”

The ring is silver with Christopher’s last name on one side. The word “ROCKS” is offset in red letters with a set of diamonds in the shape of a football. Christopher’s mother, Christy Lapniewski, said a reward would be offered for the ring’s return.

Anyone with information about the ring can contact Christopher Lapniewski at 228-313-3732 or Campus Book Mart at 601-261-9690.

When asked what the ring meant to him, Lapniewski said, “Everything.”
