Southern Miss Student Parker Receives Graduate Assistantship

Mary Katherine Parker, a graduate student pursuing a master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology at The University of Southern Mississippi, received one of five assistantships with the Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences for the 2013-14 academic year.

As a graduate assistant, Parker gains hands-on experience in early intervention while working with a certified speech-language pathologist at The Children's Center for Communication and Development with groups of preschoolers with disabilities.

A graduate of Senatobia High School, Parker is the daughter of Walt and Bronwyn Parker.
