University of Southern Mississippi student Lakelyn Taylor of Long Beach, Miss., has been awarded a Study Abroad Grant worth $1,000 from The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi -- the nation’s oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines.
Currently a junior majoring in communication studies and Spanish at Southern Miss, Taylor will use the grant to study abroad in Rome, Italy. She is one of 25 students nationwide to receive the award.
Phi Kappa Phi Study Abroad Grants are designed to support undergraduates, both members and nonmembers, as they seek expanded knowledge and experience in their academic fields. Since the program's inception in 2001, the Society has awarded more than $750,000 in Study Abroad Grants.
