Students from the Department of Art and Design at The University of Southern Mississippi were recently honored at the American Advertising Federation of the Mississippi Gulf Coast’s annual awards dinner. The Federation’s ADDY awards recognize the most creative student advertising and design students and professionals.
*Danielle Sypher-Haley of Hattiesburg won Gold and Best in Show. A $1,000 scholarship was also awarded to Sypher-Haley for winning Best in Show.
*Cody Bass of Brandon, Miss. received Gold and the Judges’ Choice Award.
*Laurel, Miss. native Kacey Holifield took Gold in Cover Design and Silver for Poster Design.
*Hunter Sullivan of Hattiesburg received Silver for Book Cover Design.
*Neil Carey of Hattiesburg received Silver for Consumer or Trade Publication.
*Parker Brewer of Hattiesburg received Silver for Illustration.
“These awards from a professional organization validate the quality work our students are producing,” said DeAnna Douglas, program coordinator. “We are very proud of their accomplishments and how well this represents the Department of Art and Design at Southern Miss.”
