More than120 University of Southern Mississippi education students and alumni, and William Carey students came to the Southern Miss Teacher Job Fair held March 9, in the Thad Cochran Center on the Hattiesburg Campus.

There were 70 school districts in attendance. These employers came from Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana, Tennessee, Florida, Texas, North Carolina, California and Arizona. The employers rated the qualifications of the students very high. In addition, they rated our Teacher Job Fair very high compared to any other fair they had attended.

Numerous districts conducted interviews on the spot as well as scheduled interviews for a later date. Approximately 70 students were offered full-time employment opportunities by the fair’s completion.

One employer noted, “This job fair is one of our favorites. We love the campus, the people, and the quality students you produce.”
