The Hub Dance Collective ensemble will perform Aug. 30-31 at USM.

As a way to open the 2018 fall semester at The University of Southern Mississippi, the Hub Dance Collective (HDC) will perform “Meet Me Again,” Aug. 30-31 at 7:30 p.m. in the Theatre and Dance Building, Studio 115 on the Hattiesburg campus.

The dances explore emotional journeys through metaphors of movement and environment.

“This end-of-summer concert includes live music, live dance, and a dance for film,” said HDC co-founder Kelly Lester. “We love presenting this concert to kick off the semester and as a way to introduce our new members of HDC.”

Tickets are $15 for general admission; $10 for faculty, staff and military; and $6 for students.

The HDC is a professional contemporary dance company, primarily comprised of USM dance faculty. This dance event will feature new pieces by members Brianna Jahn, Kelly Lester, Rebecca McArthur, and Lauren Soutullo Smith, and a repertory work by the internationally known choreographer Bill Evans. They are joined by guest performers Audra Allen and Lauren Guynes, and by solo artist, and new USM dance faculty, Candice Salyers.

This performance is presented in part by the generous support of Partners for the Arts. For more information about the Dance program at USM, visit www.usm.edu/dance.
