USM Title IX Office Coordinator Malley Serves as Conference Session Panelist

Dr. Rebecca Woodrick Malley, coordinator of The University of Southern Mississippi’s Title IX Office, served as a guest panelist for a session focusing on the issue of sexual misconduct on college campuses at the Women in Higher Education Mississippi Network (WHEMN) Conference, held Feb. 8-9 at Hinds Community College.

A native of Oxford, Miss., Dr. Malley joined Southern Miss in 2000 as its first full-time Affirmative Action/EEO Officer after working in higher education administration for more than 25 years. She became USM’s first Title IX Office coordinator in 2015, and in this role oversees implementation of the university’s sexual misconduct policy, facilitates educational outreach endeavors, and provides training for 21 employees who serve as members of the Sexual Misconduct Investigative Team. She holds a Ph.D. in communications studies from USM.

The USM Title IX Office responds to allegations of harassment or discrimination based on a person’s sex, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, or pregnancy and parenting status; and manages the University’s Sexual Misconduct Policy.
