The University of Southern Mississippi (USM)’s Master of Business Administration (MBA) program in the College of Business and Economic Development has been ranked as one of the top 50 online programs in the United States, according to bestcollegereviews.org.

The College of Business has joined with the Small Business Administration and the Area Development Partnership to host a Small Business Roundtable from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. on Monday, August 6 at Scianna Hall on The University of Southern Mississippi’s Hattiesburg campus.

The University of Southern Mississippi’s College of Business honored alumnus Chuck Scianna as the 2018 Entrepreneur of the Year during a special luncheon held Friday, April 6 at the Trent Lott National Center on the University’s Hattiesburg campus.

 

Scianna, a 1975 graduate, is the owner, founder, and President of Sim-Tex, a leading firm in the oil country tubular goods (OCTG) industry. He completed an undergraduate degree in finance from USM, an MBA from University of Houston, and a distinguished record of service in the U.S. Marine Corps.

An entrepreneurial spirit has served as a cornerstone of economic development in the State of Mississippi for more than 100 years. At The University of Southern Mississippi, entrepreneurship is recognized and heralded as a catalyst for the state’s continued success.

The College of Business at The University of Southern Mississippi continues its Inspired Leaders series on Wednesday, April 4 with a presentation by Angela Loehr Chrysler, CEO of Team National.
