Dr. Michael DeArmey, professor of philosophy, will deliver the Charles W. Moorman Distinguished Alumni Professorship lecture at 1:45 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 19 in Gonzales Auditorium at The University of Southern Mississippi.

An expert on American political thought will address a topic that scholars have debated for centuries – the role of race in American democracy.

Dr. Marek Steedman, assistant professor of political science at The University of Southern Mississippi, will present “Race and Liberty In Tocqueville’s America” at 4 p.m., Mon., Nov. 15 in Gonzales Auditorium.

Nobel Laureate and renowned physicist Eric Cornell will share his expertise with the general public during a lecture on Nov. 30 at the Thad Cochran Center on The University of Southern Mississippi campus.

Angela Brav, chief operating officer of InterContinental Hotels Group North America, implored students to “be relentlessly self-aware” during an hour-long address at the Thad Cochran Center on the University of Southern Mississippi campus.
