From June 13-16, The University of Southern Mississippi’s Department of English and de Grummond Children’s Literature Collection will host the largest annual gathering of children’s literature scholars in North America when the 40th annual Children’s Literature Association (ChLA) Conference convenes at the IP Resort in Biloxi.

University of Southern Mississippi students who participate in the school’s Greek Life system are more likely to be among the school’s highest academic achievers and most active in community service.

During the university’s annual Staff Council recognition and awards luncheon, Pierce and fellow officer Jason Powell received the Life Saving Award and Medal of Valor, respectively.

Each year, University of Southern Mississippi students receive scholarships through funds raised by student affairs during the Southern Miss Comcast Golf Classic. Due to Comcast’s support of Southern Miss and the Golf Classic as title sponsor, students are able to receive scholarships and professional development stipends for conferences.

Elections were held during the spring semester at The University of Southern Mississippi Gulf Park campus for the 2013 – 2014 Student Government Association (SGA).
