MONDAY, APRIL 11
“Passions of the Palette” event set
WHERE:Hattiesburg Lake Terrace Convention Center.
EVENT:Hosted by the Department of Casino, Hospitality and Tourism Management, the event features a silent auction, wine-tasting and dinner. For information call 601-266-6762.
Discussion, book signing planned
EVENT:The Friends of Southern Miss Universities Libraries welcome author and Laurel native Hunter Cole for a discussion and signing of his book “The Lets Murder Scandal.” For information call 601-266-4241.
TUESDAY, APRIL 12
Professional dress workshop set
WHERE:Room 210 of the Thad Cochran Center.
EVENT:This will be the final installment of the “Backpack to Briefcase” series sponsored by Career Services. Students will receive guidance on proper ways to dress professionally. For information call 601-266-4153.
WEDNESDAY, APRIL 13
“Jam for Japan” event scheduled
WHERE:The Freshman Quad on Hattiesburg campus.
EVENT:This event is part of the Project Japan fundraising effort that continues throughout April. Live music, food, a dunking booth and Southern Miss version of “I Survived a Japanese Game Show” will be featured. For information call 601.266.4403.

Final theatre performance of season opens
WHEN:7:30 p.m. April 14-16 and 2 p.m. on April 17.
WHERE:Gilbert F. Hartwig Theatre.
EVENT:A robust revue of American music will be featured during the presentation of “Smokey Joe’s Café” to close out the spring theatre season at Southern Miss. For information call 601.266.6823.

Mental Health Conference set
WHEN:8 a.m.-5 p.m.
WHERE:Thad Cochran Center.

“Parrothead Night at the Pete” planned
WHERE:Pete Taylor Park.
