The University of Southern Mississippi School of Music proudly announces The Festival of Choirs, presented by the Southern Miss Gulf Coast Civic Chorale, set for 7 p.m. on Oct. 1 at the St. Thomas Apostle Catholic Church in Long Beach, Miss. The concert is under the direction of Dr. Jonathan Kilgore.

The Civic Chorale will be performing works by Randall Thompson, Antonio Vivaldi, Richard Waters, Susan LaBarr, and Shawn L. Kirchner. The concert is free and open to the public.

“In our 24th year, the Civic Chorale will be hosting over 350 guests, high school students, community college students, and university singers from 12 south Mississippi schools,” said Kilgore. “The concert will feature individual performances by many of the guest choirs as well as the Civic Chorale. We will close the program with everyone singing in a mass choir featuring an exciting array of choral music.”
