Welcome to the daily email for media members that includes news and notes from The University of Southern Mississippi. Today’s email includes news releases about the annual Eaglepalooza event returning to Downtown Hattiesburg and the USM Alumni Association announcing a new executive committee for 2018-19. Popular Eaglepalooza Set for Return to Downtown Hattiesburg in 2018

One of The University of Southern Mississippi (USM) Student Government Association’s premier community events is returning to downtown Hattiesburg for the first time since 2015, University and City of Hattiesburg officials announced on Wednesday.

With Front Street as the announcement’s backdrop, Student Government Association (SGA) President McKenna Stone announced the concert event will be held Saturday, Sept. 15, beginning at 3 p.m. and continuing into the evening.

Bradley Appointed to Lead Southern Miss Alumni Association Executive Committee

The University of Southern Mississippi Alumni Association installed its executive committee for the 2018-19 fiscal year on July 1, with Hattiesburg native Kim Bradley assuming the duties of president. The committee is comprised of alumni who are accomplished leaders in their communities and demonstrate strong commitment to the betterment of the University.

Midsummer Musical Theatre Experience is being held on USM’s Hattiesburg campus until July 20. The camp is designed to help children ages 8-15 develop acting, singing and dancing skills. The campers will perform Giants in the Sky, winner of the 2017 Children’s Musical Theatre Festival, New York City. The camp is held from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. in the Department of Theatre. To schedule coverage, Van Arnold or David Tisdale.
