The University of Southern Mississippi School of Music presents two diverse events on Nov. 10. At 6 p.m., The Sax-Chamber Orchestra, under the direction of Dr. Lawrence Gwozdz, presents a program featuring a mixture of transcribed and original works for saxophone orchestra. Then at 7:30 p.m., faculty artist Dr. Ben McIlwain presents “Off the Beaten Path,” a trombone recital with Dr. Ellen Elder on piano and special guests Dr. Richard Perry, tuba and The Southern Miss Select Trombone Octet with guest conductor, Dr. James Standland. Both events are free and will be performed in Marsh Auditorium on the Southern Miss Hattiesburg campus.
