The University of Southern Mississippi will celebrate its annual Welcome Week event Aug. 29 to Sept. 2, to welcome new incoming freshmen and transfer students to the University’s Gulf Park campus in Long Beach.

The University of Southern Mississippi Gulf Coast Civic Chorale is in search of new members to join its community choir.

 

Based on the University's Gulf Park campus in Long Beach, the Southern Miss Gulf Coast Civic Chorale is a local community singing group organized and orchestrated through the University’s School of Music.

The University of Southern Mississippi recently honored 13 students with a ceremony for completing the rigorous, one-year hydrographic science program.

This upcoming football season, New Orleans Saints fans from across the Gulf South can expect to see a familiar face or two as six University of Southern Mississippi alumnae have joined the NFL organization as new members of the Saintsations.

 

Competing against approximately 150 women for a chance to become a member of the renowned Saintsations, aspirants underwent a three-part audition held in April that included a dance audition, formal interview and football quiz, respectively. In the end, 33 finalists were chosen, with six of those from Southern Miss.

Come June 30, Billings, who is currently the interim dean of admissions and enrollment management in the Office of Admissions, will say farewell to her only employer after dedicating 33 years of service to the University’s Gulf Park campus in Long Beach.

In an ongoing effort to promote academic excellence for its students, faculty and staff, The University of Southern Mississippi celebrated the groundbreaking for the future Gulf Park Business and Health Building, Monday, May 23, on the University’s Gulf Park campus in Long Beach.

 

The new project will provide for a two-story, 25,000-square-foot academic facility that will house the University’s Gulf Park operations for the colleges of Business and Health.
